Check Your Project Before You Commit to the Work
A free home visit, with nothing to sign
Your online estimate is a starting budget. At your home visit, your contractor checks your measurements, looks at your site, and reviews the choices in your saved estimates. You learn what needs to be confirmed before your project gets an accurate price.
Three Steps to a Confirmed Price
- Book a visit. Pick a time below. The visit is free.
- Check the property. Your contractor measures, checks the site, and reviews your saved estimates with you.
- Get your final quote. Your contractor emails a written offer with your confirmed scope and price. When your work needs a permit, you get an updated quote first, and your final quote follows the permit. See each step from estimate to final quote.
Booking a visit is not a contract, and you sign nothing at the visit. You decide whether to sign once your final quote arrives. Your quote names your contractor, which signs your contract and is responsible for the work and its warranty. See our contractor standards. We serve homeowners in Toronto, York Region and Bradford West Gwillimbury.
What to Have Ready
- Your saved estimates. Your contractor walks through each one with you.
- Any drawings. Plans from your designer or architect show what you want built.
- Problems you know about. Note damp spots, cracks, or old repairs so your contractor checks them.
- Access to the work areas. Clear a path to the rooms, basement, attic, or yard the work touches.
- Your questions. Write them down so each one gets an answer during the visit.
